Off with your head
Dance ā€˜til youā€™re dead
Heads will roll
Heads will roll
Heads will roll
On the floor

Hereā€™s what I knew about A Tale of Two Cities before I read it:

-It starts with ā€œIt was the best of times, it was the worst of times.ā€
-Charles Dickens wrote it
-The two cities are Paris and London
-It involves something about the French Revolution

A Tale of Two Cities is a weird book; Iā€™m taken to understand that itā€™s kind of a departure from the type of stuff Dickens typically wrote. I liked it, but Iā€™m not exactly sure how much I liked it. Itā€™s about the reign of terror, so you probably wonā€™t be surprised to hear that itā€™s not particularly uplifting. Thereā€™s a lot of ominous knitting, though, so thatā€™s cool.

Iā€™m not sure what to think about the ending. It felt a little tooā€¦convenient I guess. I donā€™t really get Cartonā€™s motivation for sacrificing himself for Darnay. Actually, I donā€™t much get anyoneā€™s motivations for anything, and I think thatā€™s what prevents me from thinking this book is truly brilliant.
